19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev claimed his initial championship for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.
The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has had a difficult season, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in especial - caused him falling of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with long-term mentor his previous coach.
Now training with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This marks the player's first championship after the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface since March of 2023.
The win also signifies Medvedev has won 21 titles at twenty-one various events.
"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the first title I got when my child her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his previous six title deciders, featuring in Halle previously this season.
The player's defensive strategy and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had led some to wonder if his ability to play at the elite level was concluded.
But the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and perform positively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.
The champion fought back from a break down in the first set against the tricky opponent, winning four of the last five points to take the lead.
The pair exchanged break points in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden tour title, seized the initiative to create a third set.
The opponent saved four initial break points in a close deciding set before the Russian broke to fifteen to secure the win.
Appropriately, Medvedev secured victory with a point at the net area, with his opponent unable to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
