I'll stamp all over 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be streamed live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Former two time world title holder Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

Despite these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, at the same time, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's largest money-making draws, consistently making massive paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary confrontation, with their physical disparity evident, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually happening.
